Wherever you rent — from us or anyone else — the five minutes you spend at pickup insure the rest of your holiday. Here is an honest checklist from inside the industry.
1. Photograph the car
At pickup, photograph all four corners, the bumpers and the wheels. Have existing scratches noted on the handover form. A proper company will not mind — we actively suggest it to our own customers, because a written record protects both sides.
2. Note the fuel level and mileage
The standard is to return the car with the same fuel level you received it. A quick photo of the instrument cluster captures both fuel and mileage in one frame.
3. Ask about the contract and insurance coverage
The most important question is: "Is this car covered by rental-car insurance, and what does it cover?" Standard traffic insurance and rental-car insurance are not the same thing — we explain the difference in this article. Ask for the deposit, mileage limit and out-of-town terms in writing too. 4. Inside the car
- Do the A/C and lights work?
- Is the spare wheel (or repair kit) in place?
- Are the registration and insurance papers in the car?
- Wipers and washer fluid — rain is never a surprise on the Black Sea.
5. When returning
Return it as you received it: same fuel level, reasonably clean. Take a few photos at drop-off too and make sure the handover is closed. That is all — five minutes of care prevents every possible argument.
